There is still a few things I HAVE to do in Rome before I leave. I had the list in my head but now that I am here with time to write it all down, I am totally blanking. Here is what I remember:
1. I need to go to the Sistine Chapel. Yes, I have lived here for a year and a half, not counting my two vacations prior, and have yet to do the line.
2. Eat my favorite pizza at La Scala in Trastevere
3. Eat the yummy Thai food at Thai Inn
Via Ozanam, 94
Rome 00152 Italy

4. Visit San Clemente (the church)
5. Visit the baths of Caracalla
6. Stock up on Sephora and H&M stuff
What am I missing?

If you are going for a pizza in Trastevere then let me know and perhaps I could join you! I love Trastevere! So exciting that you are moving…and to let you know that the sounds and prices of those Verona apartments seem great. Here in the centre (well outside of the walls like where I live, but still on the metro line) it is about 1000 for a monolocale…so what you earn in one months goes to pay for a shabby little room somewhere. Crazy! Go for the 2 bedroom 2 bathroom place, with the polished floor boards.
Prices are insane here. Thank god we own out apartment! Also it gives up a back up in case Verona sucks! At least you got a sweet deal with your work! I will let you know and we can plan something in Trastevere before I hit the road.-jessica
Hi Jessica!
I absolutely love your blog!
Verona sounds great and those prices sound incredible!
Where do you live in Rome?!?
Well, good luck with the move!
Ciao!
Hey Ava! I live in Villaggio Prenestino which is near Lunghezza, or RomaEst the new mall. Thanks for the well wishes!-jessica
By the way, I love in the center and still complain about “Bella Roma” on a constant basis!
LOL
Ciao
Ahhh H&M, I miss it so, buy loads while you still can.
Won’t there be a Sephora in Verona? We’ve got a few in Naples. No H + M though
Oops! There is one! Scratch that off the old to do list!-jessica
What do you do on daily basis besides going to school? How do you feel living in Roma so far?
YES YOU MUST DO THE VATICAN!!
And I totally get the Sephora thing, there was one in my town back in the UK and then I moved here and nada. But finally I found one 3 hrs away and now hubby is used to me disappearing in there for hours…LOL!
I am excited for you to be moving up north! :O) I love Verona, it is very pretty.
If you don’t have a Sephora and H&M there, you can easily take a trip to Bergamo. Orio Center has H&M, Accessorize, Zara, and Sephora. (and lots more) No Starbucks though. haha
Our cousin lived in Verona for ~5 years during her medical internship. She loved it!!
Let me know if you ever want to come to Bergamo for some shopping! :O)
Hey there. This is the first time I’ve dropped by your blog and it’s funny how many similarities there are between our attitudes to Rome. I too have been mentally packing for ages now (and started really doing so last week) and have lists and lists of things to do, things I’ll miss and things I won’t.
It’s nice to have found you.
Hey! I found your blog a month or 2 ago and love it! Thanks for commenting-jessica
The only thing i see that your missing is taking me to Rome!!
-Kristi Kritter- or-Krusty-
I told you just save for a plane ticket and you can come! Tell Grandma that’s what you want for your B-day.
Um, how bout a trip to the Piazza Navona…and one of those delish Tartufo’s at one of the cafe’s there?
Oh! Excellent idea!-jessica
Great idea writing these down. In fact, even though I’m not going anywhere anytime soon, I should probably do this too…it’s easy to get caught up in every day life and leave out all the stuff you *really* want to do
I hear ya on the to-do list! I leave for the states in two weeks and there are so many things I want to see and do before I go. sigh… How cool to see you on couch-surfing! I only wish I had checked it out sooner. I am curious what it will be like to visit the states again… I remember reading on your blog about how your trip to the US helped you realize that Italy was the right place for you right now. Anyway, buon weekend, Jessica!
Sounds very exciting. Never been to Italy, but soooo want to. Adore gelato (all Italian food is divine.) I love to cook and enjoy learning about the good, earthy flavours of Italian cuisine. Limoncello is fantastic too. Enjoy experiencing Rome before you move on.
Hey Jessica
I love the blog! How’s the moving plans coming along? I’m actually headed to Rome next week for a few days (and then Venice too) and was wondering, other than the obvious - any suggestions?
By the way, I first found your blog via your CouchSurfing profile (I was looking through profiles when I was going to CouchSurf). I’m a Canadian living in near Freiburg, Germany (in the lovely Black Forest). I’m here as an aupair - and Italy will be my last trip before I head back home after 13 months
Anyway, I wanted to say hello!!
Tschüss!
