Well they came! The official documents for Daniele’s transfer to Verona. Now all he has to do is go to Verona and take a class about working on the front lines. I guess I didn’t mention that he will have to go to Iraq and Afghanistan occasionally. So he has to take a week long class that retrains him on all the Geneva Convention stuff, rules of engagement, NATO rules and weapons training. Then we find out when we move, if it’s in June or September. I am crossing my fingers for June. I am so ready for a change.
I have only been to Verona once, but I loved what I saw. Here are some pics I took of places that will soon be all too familiar!

Wow Jessica, I’m sorry to hear he’s going so close to the action…
Being in Verona means you’ll be closer to me - hopefully we’ll get to meet up more often! Coming to Florence on the 19th?
Hey Sara! We aren’t too worried because he works with computers and networking so he shouldn’t be in those countries for extended periods of time. Hopefully will just be in a building somewhere, not walking the streets or anything. Anyhoo, I really want to make it to the GTG but our anniversary is on April 20th. Depending on if we go to Amalfi, or possibly Verona for that weekend will determine if I can get to Firenze. It sounds fun though! We definitely have to meet up! I haven’t been to Milano yet!

Very good news. But I’m not too fond of Iraq or Afghanistan. Take care.
Thanks for the well wishes *Bluefish*! If he needs to go to either country it will be a get in/get situation. -jessica
Good for you!!! One step closer….and for completely selfish reasons…I would love for you to move soon as well. Can’t wait to see all your pics of Verona.
Jessica, Jessica….where for art thou Jessica? hehe
Thanks Robin! I am excited too! I am also pumped to built another blog

It looks like a lovely place Jessica, no wonder you can’t wait to go. Not so good on the frontline stuff though, here’s hoping it’s not for long.
Verona is gorgeous! Very romantic. And it’s so close to Venice! YAY!-Jessica
How is your Italian coming along?
Are you still struggling to learn it or, is it getting easier for you? Are you still continuing to take classes?
Good Luck with your move.
Cheryl
Hi Cheryl!
Thanks for asking! I am still taking the classes and have had a better attitude about it lately. I am still trying to get out of the habit of speaking English with D, but overall things are better. -jessica
wow jessica. i can’t believe your going to move. im so excited for you. but didn’t you just remodel your apartment? well anyway talk to you later!
love, kristi
Thats great! When you get there, you have to eat at Ristorante al Duomo in centro (or something like that-we have the info on our blog from December). We ate horse and donkey there and it was really good-that coming from someone who did not eat meat for ten years! The food is good and cheap (also the wine!).
Thanks for the recommendation! I will have to go back and reread your entries when I move there!-jessica
Hey!
Did you ever read the two books from Tim Parks? He is english and moved with his Italian wife to Verona. They were really fun to read. I think they are called “Italian Neighbors” and “Italian Education”. I am not 100% sure on the titles, but I am on his name.
I am happy to hear you are moving from the burbs!! LOL I think it will be a nice change.
I have heard of it but have not read it yet! Definitely on the list though!-jessica
