One year ago today, I landed in Rome to take some chances. The biggest chance I took was moving on the other side of the world to see if D and I could start a life together. The second chance consisted of taking everything I knew and flipping it inside out. Starting from scratch in a new country, with a new language, culture, customs….Everything. I am happy to say after a year *to the day* of getting off that plane in Rome, it was the best thing I ever did. It was also the first time I really listened to MYSELF and did exactly what I wanted to do. I ignored the doomsdayers and naysayers and followed my heart!
Today is my Italian Anniversary!!! Drink some Romanella and snarf a Pandoro in my honor!
This was taken a few days after moving here

Auguri! Buon anniversario!
Thanks Sara!
Congrats Jessica! This post speaks a lot to me, because with such a huge move as the one you did, there are a looooot of Naysayers and Doomsdayers, aren’t there? … it takes courage, but nothing better than listening to yourself
Congratulazioni! Glad you are happy with your decision and enjoying your new life here.
Congratulations!!! Glad you’re happy with your decision.
Even though I complain daily about life here I don’t regret my decision to move here for love for one second. It’s worth turning your life inside out and dealing with a lot of crap to be with the “one” (not that I necessarily believe in “the one” but you know what I mean!)
Farfallina: Thanks buddy! I know you will be making the move soon and I can’t wait to have you on this side of the world!
Shelley: Thanks!
Kataroma: Thanks!! I complain too don’t get me wrong, but all in all I am the happiest I have ever been
Auguri! Buon anniversario! Didn’t have any Romanella, but did a nice shot of Limoncello in your honor!!!
Gil limoncello is just as tasty! Thanks!
