So I have been slacking again at posting. SO much is going on right now! We have literally taken a bulldozer to our apartment to make it shiny and new. Our whole house now exists solely in the computer room…the rest is under construction! I am really excited because when it is finished our house will no longer be D’s bachelor pad, but a pretty house that a girl lives in too. We are going modern chic and I can’t wait! We have this little man doing the heavy duty stuff. His name is Angelo and he is Italian, but he speaks to the beat of his own drum. Every thing is in the remote past and the third person: “Angelo has needed a paint brush from the table.” I love it! D says he seriously cannot understand him, but I think he is charming.
I am also back in intensive (and much needed) Italian classes. I took the placement exam the other day and thought to myself, as I was totally bombing the exam, that I had yet another course of level one ahead of me. To my surprise I actually placed into level two!!! It only took me repeating level one a *few* times, but hey I am on top of the world! My teacher says “tu parli molto bene!”

Congrats on passing the test, Jessica! I really, really could use some intensive classes, too, but have not found any in Naples that I can afford yet. Angelo always says, ‘why take classes when you have me?’ but I know that they would really help me out. For one thing, I want to learn more than just crass phrases in Neapolitan dialect! ;P
