Wow I feel so honored to win my first blogging award! Thanks to Sleeping Kitten-Dancing Dog for the Schmooze Award!
So what is this award all about?
“As it goes, schmoozing is the natural ability “to converse casually, especially in order to gain an advantage or make a social connection.” Good schmoozers effortlessly weave their way in and out of the blogosphere, leaving friendly trails and smiles, happily making new friends along the way. They don’t limit their visits to only the rich and successful, but spend some time to say hello to new blogs as well. They are the ones who engage others in meaningful conversations, refusing to let it end at a mere hello — all the while fostering a sense of closeness and friendship.” The award was created by Mike of Ordinary Folk.
Now I must pick 5 fellow bloggers who are masters of the schmooze. Not an easy task, especially since 2 of my picks are already winners!
So here are my favorite Italian Schmoozers:
1. Shelley in Rome When I first found this blog it was like my bible on expat life in Rome. It is the first thing I check when I sign on to my computer. Shelley is also very sweet and a great writer!
2. Sognatrice of Bleeding Espresso is another favorite. She has a great style and her words easily transform into visions. Her take on life in Calabria is really a treat!
3. Avery of La Dolce Vita. I love the way Avery writes, you feel like you are sitting down and having a conversation with a close friend. I had the chance to meet her recently and she is really sweet and friendly, just like her blog!
4. Brian of BrianBurton.org. Not only does he have a really cool name, his posts about life in Italy are informative and funny. I especially love his post on the 10 commandments of living in Italy.
5. Mental Mosaic is a fairly new blog, but I always check it to see her great pictures and for news of the happenings in Naples.
If you are a winner (unless you have already won) all you need to do to participate is:
- Write a post with links to 5 blogs that have schmoozed you into submission.
- 2. Link to this post so that people can easily find the exact origin of the award.
- 3. Optional: Proudly display the ‘Power of Schmooze Award’ with a link to the post that you wrote.
Happy Blogging and Congrats fellow Schmoozers!

Wow, you’re good–you even included all the rules and everything! Thanks for the nod
Complimenti x il tuo blog molto carino
Wow, thanks! I have never ever heard in my life that I have a cool name. I’ve been planning on changing my name to Dirk McSuperphallus, but it was too long for the stationary I wanted, so I’ve scratched that off of my todo.
Neat, I’ve never heard of blogging awards! Are there other awards, besides Schmoozing? (You ARE a good schmoozer, btw)
Thanks for schmoozin me! i guess that means i have to update. I’ve been a bit lazy in the blogsphere (I blame it on the heat) but you’ve given me a nice push to keep going. Thanks!
Congrats - very “schmoozy”! :-)
After 3-1/2 years of blogging I have yet to win an award, but I’m sure my day will come some day!
Well, haha! I do have another blog, but it’s dedicated to my adventures in being artsy-crafty.
I figured it was time to stop boring everyone with details on my latest adventure in crochet or sewing, and start a blog just for that.
If you’re interested, it’s http://fluxity-craft.blogspot.com/
Thanks for the schmooze power! You are quite a force in the blogosphere yourself. Keep it up!
Oh wow- I need to surf the Internet more. These are great blogs! I am bookmarking them….
RYN: He’s finishing his BA in Information and Library Scicence…so he can’t apply for school and besides, education is free in EU countries. They won’t issue him a work permit if he was studying here anyway…we have to look up the options and decide what to do. Too difficult to be apart.
Conragulations!..give the trick here that make you win
